International Evangelist / Preacher / Teacher / Prophetic Voice
Elisabeth was born in Hengelo, The Netherlands. She and her husband, Herbert, moved to South Africa in the 1960’s to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and continue His work in Africa. Elisabeth has preached the Gospel in over 40 nations worldwide in the past 35 years and continues to travel throughout Europe, Israel and South Africa as several ministry invitations come.
She loves the children of Africa and started the Elisabeth / Yolisa Home for Children in 2006 in order to bring a safe and nurturing learning environment to disadvantaged and orphaned children in Cape Town.
In ministry, Elisabeth is used by God in the areas of prayer, healing, evangelism, preaching, teaching and in the prophetic and there are numerous testimonies of people being touched by the Power of the Holy Spirit around the world through her ministry.
Elisabeth comes from a long family line of caring for children. Her father, Sikko Vis, helped hide 23 Jewish children during WWII and is honored at Yad Vashem, Israel, and in numerous Holocaust Museums around the world.

Yolisha and Elisabeth have been good friends since 2006 and together established a home to care for and protect orphaned children in the impoverished community of Masiphumelele. The Children’s Home is under the auspices and foundation of Elisabeth Syre Ministries International NPO 046095. Yolisha lives with and cares for the children in the container-made home and her brother and sister, Selena and Genesis, helps her with the work. The children’s home project relies solely on donations to keep operating.

Recently, the Elisabeth/ Yolisa Children’s Home had their biggest Christmas Party ever! The party was held in Glencairn, Cape Town with large playgrounds for the children to play games and have fun.
We hosted 60 children and 30 adults including 4 volunteer workers from World Vision. The preparation for this day took 2 months and the end result was a huge success.
A huge thank you to all friends and family from South Africa and overseas for your support in the form of cash donations, food, clothing, toys, and much more as well as the following sponsors who contributed towards the Christmas Party, namely-
Veritas and JDI Foundation – Donated all the t-shirts and shorts for the children to wear on the day, colour pencils and a cash donation. Genesis Medical Aid Scheme (www.gmed.co.za) donated 100 teddy bears and Incline Marketing Solutions (www.incline.co.za) provided 100 ice creams.
The local newspaper (People’s Post) came out for the day to write an article on how the home started and how it has grown until now.
Also a big thank you to the company Louis Karol who donated paint to beautify the dwelling place of these children and orphans.
We still need so much support for the project to keep going. Petrol costs are high to get the food from point A to point B and the administrative costs are high too. Two local supermarkets in Cape Town now provide food on a daily basis which is collected and dropped off in the township by volunteers for Elisabeth Syre Ministries.
It has been an extremely busy year with travelling to bring the gospel far and wide and making sure the children are taken well care of.
