Dearest friends and prayer partners, February in India has been an awesome experience. In spite of great persecutions, burning down of congregations, killing of believers, we experienced such love as we entered the house of Deepak’s family. They had invited me and were all eagerly waiting for this white faced woman from Africa. Father Vasant, Deepak’s wife Meena, his daughter Malka as well as his brother Pankaj and sister in law Rasjshree were serving us with love and hospitality seldom found on this earth. Deepak’s mother was resting after a knee replacement operation. Deepak’s house had a proper bathroom and hot shower!, sign of prosperity, as most houses have just holes in the ground- no toilet-paper and only a bucket of water and no electricity. Deepak’s family (mainly Hindu) do not have any idols in their home- Deepak - was the only believer in his home and that has been quite lonely for him. I baptized him 23 years ago in Jerusalem. We read the Scriptures to the family members and at the end Rajshree and her husband Pankaj gave their lives to the Lord and were baptized in the Jacuzzi of our friends Gini and Juhi, (see picture on top) who gave us upper class hospitality. They are believers through the testimony of Deepak and the Lord has done miracles in their lives. After prayer 2 years ago they got a beautiful baby girl called Sarah. What was impossible by men is always possible by God. This blessing turned them completely to the God of Abraham-Isaac and Jacob trusting Him for miracles.(Juhi praying w.me - top pic) Hindu shrines on every corner have the swastika painted on it. That was a real shocker to me!! A riksha is a three wheeler motor vehicle an open cab transporting you. The curry dishes are great! The Indian churches were very open to ministry and the hunger for the Scriptures was such a blessing to experience. Yet there is so much persecution as many Christians have died for their faith. The poverty in India really got to me. Little girls of 8 working as nannies and housekeepers. Most people do not even know their birthdates unless they come from educated families. No stoves.

The baptism of Meena,(left) Deepak’s wife, brought tears to our eyes as Meena was a Hindu and now she and Deepak could share their lives as Christians together. No more idols – no loneliness and misunderstandings. The beautiful Indian women, the lovely children who sang the praises of the Lord- the many who were prayed for – it all was a palette of colours in the walk with Him, who called me. Thanks for your continuous prayer as I prepare for another long flight to Europe on the 25th of March- taking 29 meetings in April in different countries. Your prayers are appreciated. Shalom, Elisabeth
